Speaker A

Okay, let's be honest.

Speaker A

How many tabs are open on your phone right now?

Speaker A

And how many of them are late night Google searches?

Speaker A

Like, Is my brain fog after 50 normal?

Speaker A

Or why do my knees sound like Rice Krispies?

Speaker A

How much protein do I really need?

Speaker A

Is it too late to change careers at 60?

Speaker A

What's the best bra for sagging?

Speaker A

Asking for a friend?

Speaker A

Yeah, same here.

Speaker A

Today, we're pulling back the curtain on the quiet questions we all ask.

Speaker A

But we don't always say out loud.

Speaker A

Because you're not the only one.

Speaker A

And most importantly, you're not crazy.

Speaker A

You're just evolving.

Speaker A

Celebrate the journey every single day.

Speaker A

Aging with grace and style in our own special way.

Speaker A

Welcome to Aging with Grace and Style, the podcast where we keep it real, encouraging women over 50 to show up, fully, love themselves deeply, and age boldly.

Speaker A

Valerie I'm your host, Valerie, and this is part three of our Real Talk plus Real Life series.

Speaker A

In episode one, we talked about body image and health and the weight of it all.

Speaker A

In episode two, we brought back joy in aging out loud.

Speaker A

And today we're going inside the search bar because the things we quietly Google reveal what we're most curious and sometimes most anxious about seeing.

Speaker A

Sometimes the hardest part of aging isn't the changes, it's the silence around them.

Speaker A

So let's break the silence with honesty, compassion, and a little humor.

Speaker A

Because no matter how weird your search history may look, you're not the only one.

Speaker A

Honestly, for me, it's Google ChatGPT and perplexity, depending on my question.

Speaker A

I'm just saying, let's name it.

Speaker A

We Google when we're too embarrassed to ask, when we feel behind, when we don't want to look like we just don't have it all together.

Speaker A

Here are just a few that might sound familiar.

Speaker A

Why am I gaining weight but eating less?

Speaker A

How do I fix crepey skin on my arms?

Speaker A

Is it normal to feel invisible after 50?

Speaker A

Why don't I want sex anymore?

Speaker A

What's the best shampoo for thinning hair?

Speaker A

Do I have adhd, or is it just menopause?

Speaker A

How do I start over again?

Speaker A

Okay, here's one that I've googled, and if by chance there are some guys that are listening, I'm sure someone in your life has googled this too.

Speaker A

And it's Is it common for one boob to be bigger than the other?

Speaker A

By the way, the answer is yes.

Speaker A

What we're really searching for is relief, reassurance, and connection.

Speaker A

So let's give ourselves permission to ask these questions and to ask them out loud.

Speaker A

Let's talk about the Curiosity Closet, AKA stuff we all Google but we don't admit.

Speaker A

Let's open up the Curiosity Closet and shine a little light inside.

Speaker A

Here's some questions.

Speaker A

Can I tone my arms after 50?

Speaker A

Yes.

Speaker A

With weight, protein and consistency.

Speaker A

Is it okay to love being single at 55?

Speaker A

Yes.

Speaker A

You don't need a plus one to be whole.

Speaker A

What's the best bra for lifting?

Speaker A

Comfort?

Speaker A

Third love Wacol and soma are worth a look.

Speaker A

Why am I crying over commercials, hormones, stress, fatigue and just being human.

Speaker A

Should I go gray or keep coloring?

Speaker A

Either way, make it your choice, not your obligation.

Speaker A

Can I change careers this late in life?

Speaker A

You're not too old.

Speaker A

You're too wise to stay unfulfilled.

Speaker A

We Google because we care.

Speaker A

We're curious, we want to grow.

Speaker A

And guess what?

Speaker A

That's a sign of life, not a failure.

Speaker A

Let's go deeper into a few of the most common and maybe most understood one is why can't I remember anything?

Speaker A

Well, hormonal shifts, stress, lack of sleep and nutrient imbalances can all contribute to midlife brain fog.

Speaker A

You're not losing it, but you may need magnesium or omega 3s, a better sleep routine, less multitasking and more margin.

Speaker A

Another question is why do my joints hurt all the time?

Speaker A

Estrogen affects joint fluid and so does inflammation.

Speaker A

Support with movement, hydration, strength training and yes, rest.

Speaker A

Why doesn't makeup work anymore?

Speaker A

Skin texture changes.

Speaker A

Your go to routine from 15 years ago May need a refresh.

Speaker A

Try a lighter foundation, a cream blush and focus on moisture.

Speaker A

Why is my sex drive so low?

Speaker A

This is so common and so unspoken.

Speaker A

Between hormone changes, stress and even self image shifts, intimacy can feel like a stranger.

Speaker A

You're not broken.

Speaker A

Talk to your doctor.

Speaker A

Explore other forms of closeness.

Speaker A

You're still worthy of pleasure.

Speaker A

How do I know if I'm in perimenopause?

Speaker A

If your mood, sleep cycle and energy are unpredictable and you're over 40, perimenopause might be starting blood work may not show it.

Speaker A

Trust your symptoms and work with a doctor who specializes in women's health.

Speaker A

What helps this crepey skin Topical support like retinol or hyaluronic acid paired with protein rich meals and strength training makes a difference over time.

Speaker A

Google is helpful, but it's not a replacement for community.

Speaker A

So what do we do with all of this information that we've googled?

Speaker A

You can talk to a doctor who understands women 40 and up.

Speaker A

Share your questions in safe spaces.

Speaker A

Be open with friends.

Speaker A

You'll be surprised how many?

Speaker A

Say girl.

Speaker A

I was wondering the same exact thing.

Speaker A

Try this.

Speaker A

Start a Google journal.

Speaker A

You should have known I was going to say the word journal.

Speaker A

At some point during this episode, when you catch yourself searching weird things, write them down.

Speaker A

Over time, you're going to spot some things.

Speaker A

What am I afraid of?

Speaker A

What am I really craving?

Speaker A

What do I need support with?

Speaker A

This turns search more into, let's say, self discovery.

Speaker A

Now, you've heard me say this before.

Speaker A

You're not late.

Speaker A

You're not falling apart.

Speaker A

You're unfolding.

Speaker A

Every quiet question that you ask is a step toward growth.

Speaker A

Every time you choose curiosity over shame, you're reclaiming your power.

Speaker A

So don't be embarrassed about what's in your search bar.

Speaker A

Be proud that you still care enough to ask.

Speaker A

So here's the challenge of the week.

Speaker A

Write down the last three things you googled about your body, about confidence, or about the future.

Speaker A

Now ask yourself, what's the deeper question here?

Speaker A

Who could I talk to about this?

Speaker A

In real life, you're not the only one wondering.

Speaker A

And you don't have to wonder alone.

Speaker A

So that's it, my friend.

Speaker A

We have wrapped up our Real Talk plus Real Life series by going to a place where we all live.

Speaker A

And that's Google.

Speaker A

But today, we've pulled those quiet questions into the light.

Speaker A

And I hope that you've walked away knowing this.

Speaker A

You're not the only one.

Speaker A

You're not behind, and you're certainly not broken.

Speaker A

You're becoming, and you're right on time.

Speaker A

If this episode made you laugh or made you nod or say, yes, that's me, please share it with a friend.

Speaker A

Start the conversation, ask the weird question.

Speaker A

And if you miss the weight of it all or aging out loud, go back and listen.

Speaker A

The series is for you and every woman, navigating the in between with grace, curiosity, and style.

Speaker A

Until next time, keep asking, keep becoming, and keep aging with grace, style and a touch of satin.

Speaker A
