Speaker A

When life feels heavy, it's easy to think that you're not doing enough.

Speaker A

That strength has to be bold.

Speaker A

It has to be loud or unstoppable.

Speaker A

But here's the truth.

Speaker A

Strength looks different in every season.

Speaker A

Sometimes it's about charging forward.

Speaker A

Sometimes it's about standing still with courage.

Speaker A

And sometimes it's simply choosing to breathe through the next moment.

Speaker A

No matter what your strength looks like right now, you're doing better than you think.

Speaker B

Living our best life.

Speaker B

It's good to be alive, but it's best to tune it in.

Speaker B

Let your spirit fly.

Speaker B

Celebrate the journey every single day.

Speaker B

Aging with grace and style in our own special way.

Speaker A

Welcome to Aging with Grace and Style.

Speaker C

The show where we embrace midlife and.

Speaker A

Beyond with courage, authenticity, and joy.

Speaker A

I'm Valerie, and if you're walking through a tender season one where you don't.

Speaker C

Feel as strong or as energized as.

Speaker A

You'D like, I want you to know.

Speaker C

You are not alone.

Speaker A

This space is for you.

Speaker A

This conversation is for you.

Speaker A

So go ahead and get comfy, maybe.

Speaker C

Grab your coffee, tea, or whatever your.

Speaker A

Drink of choice is, and let's have.

Speaker C

A little heart to heart.

Speaker A

Today, I want to gently challenge the idea that strength always looks the same.

Speaker A

Because real strength, it's dynamic, it shifts, it evolves.

Speaker A

And sometimes it.

Speaker A

It's softer than we expect, but no less powerful.

Speaker A

We often celebrate strength when it's obvious.

Speaker C

The achievements, the milestones, the public victories.

Speaker A

But think about this.

Speaker A

Some of the most powerful strength happens in private.

Speaker A

In the quiet moments where no one is clapping.

Speaker A

In the choices that you make that.

Speaker C

No one even sees.

Speaker C

Getting up when your heart feels heavy.

Speaker A

Choosing to rest instead of push.

Speaker A

Saying no to something that just drains you.

Speaker C

Having a hard conversation with someone you love.

Speaker A

Now, that's strength, too.

Speaker A

And honestly, sometimes that kind of strength requires more courage than any loud, visible wind ever could.

Speaker A

I want you to think about your own life for a second.

Speaker C

Can you remember a time where you felt like you were just barely holding it together?

Speaker C

But looking back, you realize you were actually stronger than you gave yourself credit for?

Speaker A

Maybe it was after a loss.

Speaker C

Maybe it was during a health scare.

Speaker C

Maybe it was just getting through a hard week when no one else knew how hard it really was?

Speaker C

Those moments count.

Speaker A

You count.

Speaker A

Here's a quick question for you.

Speaker A

If you paused right now and you looked back at the last few weeks, what's one moment that you handled with quiet strength?

Speaker C

Even if no one else noticed?

Speaker A

Just think about it for a second.

Speaker C

You've probably been stronger than you Realize.

Speaker A

When we're overwhelmed, we tend to measure ourselves harshly.

Speaker A

I know I do.

Speaker A

We see all the things that we didn't do, all the ways that we think we've fallen short.

Speaker A

But today I want us to flip the script.

Speaker A

Did you show up today, even imperfectly?

Speaker A

Did you care for someone else, even while carrying your own worries?

Speaker A

I know I did.

Speaker A

Did you make any choice to honor your well being, even in a very small way?

Speaker A

Well, you know what?

Speaker A

That's victory.

Speaker A

That's resilience.

Speaker A

That's real strength.

Speaker A

And you deserve to see yourself through a more compassionate lens.

Speaker A

Honestly, I'm living this right now.

Speaker A

There are days when I feel stretched thin, worried about family, balancing responsibilities, trying.

Speaker C

To be everything to everyone.

Speaker A

And it's easy to think I'm not handling this well enough.

Speaker A

But then I stop and I realize I'm still here.

Speaker A

I'm still caring, I'm still loving, I'm still trying.

Speaker A

And you know what?

Speaker A

That's enough.

Speaker C

You're doing better than you think, too.

Speaker C

If this is hitting home, then be.

Speaker A

Sure to let me know when.

Speaker A

When we end.

Speaker A

But here's something else.

Speaker A

What's one thing that you're proud of yourself for today?

Speaker A

Even if it's tiny?

Speaker A

Because tiny wins.

Speaker A

Well, they're still wins.

Speaker A

If this is a softer, quieter, maybe more fragile season for you, that's okay.

Speaker A

These are a few ways that you can nurture yourself without guilt or pressure and think about which one feels like the reminder that you need it most today.

Speaker A

Rest intentionally.

Speaker A

Give yourself permission to unplug and recharge without labeling it as laziness.

Speaker A

Celebrate small wins.

Speaker C

Write down one small thing each day.

Speaker A

That you're proud of, even if it's just, I made it through the day Girl.

Speaker A

Making it through the day is a.

Speaker C

Big deal these days.

Speaker C

Honor your emotions.

Speaker A

You're allowed to feel grief, to feel anger, to feel sadness or fear.

Speaker A

None of these emotions make you weak.

Speaker A

I know we're always trying to be.

Speaker C

Strong and we think we have to be tough.

Speaker A

And if we feel any of these emotions.

Speaker A

And that must be a sign of weakness, it is not a sign of weakness.

Speaker A

Lower the bar when needed.

Speaker A

Success today might look like completing one.

Speaker C

Task or simply just resting your heart.

Speaker A

And you know what?

Speaker A

That's enough.

Speaker A

Lean into grace.

Speaker A

Treat yourself the way you would treat a friend.

Speaker A

I don't know why we treat ourselves worse than we treat everybody else.

Speaker A

But treat yourself with gentleness, with patience, and with hope.

Speaker C

Real strength.

Speaker C

It includes knowing when to be tender with yourself.

Speaker A

I want you to pick one thing from the list that you can lean into this week.

Speaker A

Maybe it's resting more intentionally.

Speaker A

Maybe it's celebrating your small wins.

Speaker C

Now, which one feels like the reminder.

Speaker A

That you need it most today?

Speaker A

Before we wrap up, let me remind you again, there's no right way to be strong.

Speaker A

Think of one thing that you can.

Speaker C

Do today that honors the version of.

Speaker A

Strength that you're carrying right now.

Speaker A

Maybe it's resting.

Speaker A

Maybe it's speaking up.

Speaker A

Maybe it's simply taking a deep breath and moving through the next moment with compassion.

Speaker A

Strength doesn't always roar.

Speaker A

Sometimes it whispers.

Speaker A

Sometimes it lays its hand on your shoulder and says, just keep breathing.

Speaker C

Strength doesn't always charge forward.

Speaker A

Sometimes it sits quietly with grief, with hope, with uncertainty.

Speaker A

And it refuses to give up.

Speaker A

You, my friend, you're stronger than you know.

Speaker C

And you're doing much better than you.

Speaker A

Give yourself credit for.

Speaker A

Now, I know today's episode was a bit shorter than usual, but hey, showing up even for a few minutes, was my way of showing strength in this season.

Speaker A

This week, honor whatever version of strength is showing up in your life.

Speaker A

Don't compare, don't criticize.

Speaker A

Just honor it.

Speaker A

And if this message gave you even a little encouragement, would you share it with a friend who might need the same reminder?

Speaker A

Until next time, keep shining, keep breathing.

Speaker A

And trust that strength is growing in you even now.

Speaker A

Thanks for hanging out with me today.
